Today I began a study that I thought would be cut and dried. I thought I had read enough of this topic to have formed an opinion. After searching the scriptures for about an hour, now I'm more puzzled than when I began.

I'm reading all the verses which talk about the "angel of the Lord." Have you ever done that? Have you ever thought about who this angel was? The word angel itself simply means messenger, but most often refers to a group of beings that are a little above humans (Psalm 8:5, Hebrews 2:7, 9). Angels usually refer to a unique set of beings. To study these is an interesting, yet perplexing study. There is enough information to keep you wondering, I think.

This is the most interesting verse of all: Jdg 13:18 "And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it is secret?"

So the name of the "angel of the Lord" is secret. Secrets make me curious. How about you?
